Introduction to Buddhism
Friday Mornings | 10:00 – 11:15am

We are exploring the middling scope of Kadam Lamrim meditations. In order to stop of our suffering physical and mentally, we need to understand the main cause of our suffering. Buddha tells us the main cause of our misery is our self grasping ignorance. During September, we are looking at the following:

> How does our uncontrolled desires conjoined with grasping on results lead to disappointment?
> What exactly is samsara? And, what is the experience of my samsara?
> What are the actual methods to break our cycle of suffering through recognizing, reducing and eventually abandoning it?

The Friday morning meditation class is taught by Gen Kelsang Chokyi. This series is based on the book  Introduction to Buddhism: An Explanation of the Buddhist Way of Life  by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso which is available to purchase in our bookstore.

What to Expect at a Class

You don't need to be Buddhist to benefit from these practical teachings. Each class includes a relaxing breathing meditation, a teaching, a contemplative meditation, and a closing dedication.
