How do you give? Do you think giving a gift can happen beyond the holidays and birthdays? Giving from a Buddhist perspective means that we can give love, fearlessness, good advice to our friends as well as material things. If we give in this way, we can discover happy feelings in ourselves.

Join Jannette Kennedy to explore these wisdom perspectives and see how you can discover them in your daily life interactions with others at home, at school and pretty much wherever you go!

August 31 — No class due to Midwest Away Retreat
September 7  — Giving Love: What Does that Look Like?
September 14 — Giving Fearlessness: To Friends, Insects and Others
September 21 — Giving Good Advice: Makes Us & Others Happy
September  28 —  Giving Material Things: Without Expectation

This class is geared towards children ages 5-12 years old. Jannette will introduce you to the fundamentals of Buddha’s teachings and meditation practice. Each class will consist of a short prayer and meditation, teaching, and an arts and craft activity related to the class with Emer who is assisting the classes.

Your child will leave class learning practical tools for life!

About the Teacher

Jannette has been with the center for over for ten years, and has been a part of our children’s meditation program from the beginning. She is a busy mother of two, and a wonderful example of how to integrate Buddha’s teachings into a busy life. She enjoys sharing the modern presentation of Buddha’s teachings with parents and kids alike to help people find peace of mind.
