Kadampa Meditation Center Indianapolis ("KMC Indy," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through meditation-indianapolis.org (the "Website"), at our Center, and through our online classes, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Website or our services, you agree to this Policy. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
Account and membership information: name, email address, phone number, password, and membership level.
Registration information: details you provide when signing up for classes, retreats, or events, including any information about children who will attend Kids Club.
Payment information: billing details for memberships, donations, and purchases. Payments are handled by third-party payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
Newsletter and contact information: your email address and any message you send us through forms, email, or text.
Mobile phone number and text message information: if you sign up for our text (SMS) messages, we collect your mobile phone number, your consent and opt-in date and time, and the messages you send to and receive from us.
Prayer requests: the content of any request you submit, including names or circumstances you choose to share.
Donation information: your name, contact details, and the amount and date of your gift.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Website, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website, and the date and time of your visit. 4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your mobile phone number or text message opt-in data with third parties or affiliates. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except with service providers that help us send text messages on our behalf (such as our messaging platform and mobile carriers). Apart from that, we share information only as follows:
Service providers: companies that help us run the Website and our services, such as website hosting, membership and scheduling software, payment processing, email and text messaging, video conferencing for online classes, and analytics. They may use your information only to perform services for us.
Kadampa Buddhism organizations: where needed to support events or programs we host together, such as national or international festivals.
Our Resident Teacher and community: prayer request content may be shared with our Resident Teacher and community for the purpose of dedicating prayers, as described in our Terms and Conditions.
Legal and safety reasons: where we believe disclosure is required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of KMC Indy, our community, or others.
Organizational changes: if our organization merges with or transfers operations to another organization, your information may be transferred as part of that change.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep it working, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand site traffic. We may also use advertising technologies, such as the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel, to measure the effectiveness of our ads and to show our classes and events to people who may be interested.

6. Email and Text Messages
Email. If you sign up for our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.
Text messages (SMS). If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in, you agree to receive recurring text messages from KMC Indy about our classes, events, retreats, reminders, and Center news. Please note:
Consent is optional. Agreeing to receive text messages is not required to attend classes, become a member, make a donation, or purchase anything from us.
Message frequency varies.
Costs. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
Opt out anytime. Reply STOP to any text message to unsubscribe. You will receive a confirmation message, and no further marketing texts will be sent unless you opt in again.
Help. Reply HELP to any text message, or contact us at 317-207-0012 or info@meditation-indianapolis.org, for assistance.
Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your phone number stays with us. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes (see Section 4).
We may still send you essential messages about your account, payments, or a registration.
7. Children's Privacy
The Website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18 through the Website. Parents and guardians may provide information about their children for Kids Club registration, and we use it only for that purpose. If you believe a child has given us personal information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including to maintain your account, meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
