Foundation Program (FP)

Sundays | 4:00 – 7:30 pm

What is the Foundation Program?

The Foundation Program is an in-depth course designed to provide the ideal, structured conditions that result in deeper understanding and meditative experience of Buddha’s teachings on attaining happiness and enlightenment.

The classes are a dynamic mix of study, reflection, discussion, and meditation, and emphasizes the practical application of Buddhist wisdom to daily life to make authentic spiritual progress.

What will we be studying?

The Foundation Program class is currently studying The New Eight Steps to Happiness, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. This practical and inspiring text is a commentary to the famous Eight Verses of Training the Mind by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva, Langri Tangpa. It reveals essential methods for transforming all life’s difficulties into valuable spiritual insights, and outlines the Buddhist philosophy to developing universal love and compassion for all living beings. In this way, we can learn how to turn every moment into a step on the path to inner peace, and tap into the unlimited source of happiness that we all carry within ourselves.

By studying the lessons in this books, and putting them into practice, we will be able to transform all of life’s adversities and bring them into our spiritual path.
